Sharlene, of course, married Gary Dabney.  Everyone new she would.  Their children still live in Alaska the last I heard.  I was in Tucson on business a couple of years ago and tried to contact Sharlene but was unable to find a number that worked.  I am sorry I didn't try harder.

Jana, remembers, all to well, the time she and I visited Sharlene.  Sharlene and Gary had small dogs that liked to jump into your lap.  One jumped in Jana's lap and she jumped and swept the dog off her lap and against the wall.  We are not sure Sharlene ever forgave Jana for that.

Thanks for sharing this story, Donald. I could really picture the single motion that sent the doggies flying. It gave me a grin.

Just as Gary Dabney did, Sharlene was able to live out her/their dream of living in Alaska.  I believe it was because her sister, Joyce, lived in Juneau where her husband was editor of the local newspaper.  Although she was academically qualified to teach school, Sharlene worked as a secretary for the State of AK there in Juneau until her health and family circumstances took her to Tucson.  She suffered from bi-polar disorder and her last ten years or so were not very pleasant.  Her 2nd husband faithfully took care of her and passed away just a few months after her.  Sharlene's daughter, Robyn Ramos, and family still live in Juneau.  Son, Ryan, lives with Gary's mother Faye Dabney near Grand Junction, CO.
